Assembling the Night. 16"x 24" Digital Inkjet C-Prints. 2015

A portrait series of the organizers/DJ’s of Chances Dances that commemorate their role in the creation of queer safe(r) spaces. Starting in 2005, Chances Dances is a queer dance party that also hosts three funding cycles to support local artists. Curated by Gallery 400 director Lorelei Stewart and artist/curator/educator John Neff, Making Chances meshes artworks, histories and exhibition design in a reflection of the intertwined activities and lived experiences in the Chances community. Making Chances is an exhibition of the identity, history, and community of Chances Dances, the radically inclusive queer dance party that builds safer spaces and supports local artists and activists.
